Day one of my blog project began with a visit to my local cafe. Where else does inspiration strike best, than over a hot, rich, foamy cup of coffee? It was a productive morning and the ideas just kept flowing. I now feel that I have a plan that is easy enough to stick to but flexible enough to adapt as I progress and grow in confidence.
Step one of my plan is to start contacting potential interviewees for my blog project. I have decided to focus initially on local artisans. South East London is a hotbed of young, creative talent, so it really isn’t necessary to reach out to the big, wide world when there is so much good stuff happening here already.
If you know of anyone you would like to recommend, please ping me a message in the comments section below.
Step two is that I’m going to spend less time strategising in my head and more time out in the real world, making connections and getting involved in community initiatives. This way, I am hopefully more likely to encounter local artisans without coming across like a stalker or a door-to-door sales person. My travelling years as an international consultant have wilted many of my personal contacts, so there’s lot’s of catching up to do.
The final step of my plan is to be absolutely committed to this project and just get on with it; writing, connecting, eating, reading, sleeping, swimming, sharing, cooking, learning and making every single day count.
I have fantasised long enough about all the great and wonderful things I wish I could do, so it is fantastic that I now have the time and the opportunity to actually put my ideas into actions.
